Business and Human Rights - Lunch Time Talk

The Department of Applied Social Studies & Trocaire invite you to a lunch time event on
Business and Human Rights – Community engagement with multinational companies’ CSR policies in Liberia and experiences from Liberia and on developments internationally on Business and Human Rights Issues

Silas Siakor is Director of Sustainable Development Institute in Liberia, a national civil society organisation promoting the sustainable and just use of Liberia’s natural resources through a focus on good governance and equity in the sharing of benefits derived from resource exploitation. He was awarded the 2006 Goldman Environmental Prize for his work.
Mark Cumming is Programme Officer in Trocaire’s Governance and Human Rights Team. His recent work on the UN Framework on Business and Human Rights led to Trocaire’s advocacy work on investments held in the Irish National Pensions Reserve Fund and its links to human rights abuses by global MNCs in the South.
